They recommend hiking all 26 miles in one day which will take around eight hours. While hiking all 26 miles is a noble adventure, we find it much more enjoyable to choose a section of the path. A great place to begin is Stamford, NY. Start out with breakfast at T.P.’s Cafe or Stamford Coffee, and then head to the trail. Setting a distance for an out and back journey is straightforward and fun. Once you have completed your hike you can head back to town for lunch or shopping in the fantastic shops that line Main Street.
